Scouting: Ricky Lester, FS, St Pius X HS

St Pius’ Ricky Lester might be one of the hardest hitters you’ll find in Texas high school football.

Name: Ricky Lester

Height: 6’3″

Weight: 180

School: St Pius X HS (Houston, TX)

Class: 2018

Scouting Report: I’m not going to lie when I tell you this is probably my favorite athlete on the talent list I’ve been putting together over the last seven months. There’s little doubt in my mind that he’s one of the hardest hitters I’ve seen on film and might be one of the more talented free safeties out there.

Ricky Lester has incredible field vision and will follow the quarterback’s eyes from the start of the play to when the ball leaves his hand. The one thing that sticks out the most, aside from being one of the most physical players, is his ability to close the gap quickly if he’s away from where the ball is going.

There is nothing inside me that tells me that he won’t be a big time impact player at the next level no matter where he ends up. Not saying he’s going to be the next top college player but I will tell you that he’s going to have one hell of a career after his high school days are over.
